Pretty Dress Update and thoughts

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Photobucket

It has been a little tricky recently for me to be motivated about posting vintage to my shop.I have SO many dresses and oodles of funky purses and shoes... just little time to take Z photos
....and lack of a model. Yet here they are regardless.
APPLESEED VINTAGE

I really appreciate seeing photos of the clothing on a model when I purchase online, so you can really understand the style and fit. I try my hardest to post pictures of clothing being modeled. This happens to be my newest model Lily.

Ok, so she is my little sister but you would not believe how many photos I had to take just to get 5 decent ones. I swear she was twirling around in the dresses like a little girl playing dress up...and then she attempted to take some to wear that night. ha you gotta love her though.. full of energy.

I cannot wait until I move and get everything organized so I can post on a regular schedule.
I hope everyone is having a splendid Tuesday.
It is very hot here in Tuscaloosa, so I am staying inside writing letters and getting packages together for my new pin pals.

Sneak Peak - Nectar Vintage

Thursday, May 27, 2010

Here is a little sneak peak at this week's updates. This week, my friend Rachael Roberts photographed clothing for Nectar Vintage. Erin Brooks was the new model. It was so much fun, and sweating hott! Everything pictured below (except for the model of course!) will be available for purchase at Nectar Vintage by the end of this week. You can check out some more of Rachael Robert's photography (portfolio) here, also at her blog Rachaelnroberts Photography. Can't wait to do it again! Thanks Erin and Rach.

Birdies- my latest sculpture

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Photobucket

Here are a few photos from my most recent sculpture piece. You have no idea how many birdies I have made out of records! I got a little tired of it for a while but I'm glad that I stuck with it. The final installation is currently being displayed in the student center at the University of Alabama. As always, Gavin helped out any way he could, which meant in this case handling the power tools. He drilled one too many holes at first, but it eventually worked out.

I just have no idea where I am going to put these birds once they come out of the gallery. Anyone want to purchase an installation? If you live close enough I will even come install them! Otherwise my floor is going to be filled with birds haha.

Here is the final photo.

As always my friends took the opportunity to play around and snatch some pretty awesome photos! School was out so there were only a handful of people who came to the opening reception.

Hope you enjoy. There are plenty more sculpture pieces to come.
Also, be sure to check out the shop tonight (AppleSeed Vintage), I am uploading the rest of the dresses from last weeks photo shoot. As seen here on a previous post.

Spring Vintage Photoshoot for the shop

Saturday, May 15, 2010

Photobucket

Yesterday I ventured out to the beautiful outskirts of Tuscaloosa with two of my lovely friends! Mary Catherine Moody modeled clothes for my shop while Rachael Roberts photographed. Mary was a great model, and made it pretty easy to get great shots and still have an amazing time. All of the clothes you see below are for sale on my Etsy site. Mary and Rachel both have incredible websites and blogs. Mary is a fashion designer and a very talented artist and model, check out her blog here. Rachel Roberts took all of these amazing photos. She is available for wedding, event, and individual photography. Just shoot her an email. renegaderoberts@gmail.com

Or you can check out her great work here.

I hope you enjoy these photos. Which ones are your favorite?
OH and don't forget, everything you see is available for purchase at
The AppleSeed.

Tuesday Lavender Lovelys

Purple has to be one of my favorite colors.I used to own a purple JanSport book pack in middle school. I wore it everyday to school for 6 years. I finally moved on to my leather satchel "The Idea Bag" which I found at J&J's junk in Birmingham. Here are a few bright and happy photos for you to enjoy.

Directions how to make this wonderful cake here.

Mini Bouqet and Pie Lab

Monday, March 8, 2010

PieLab is a welcoming community space on Greensboro’s Main Street that provides delicious pie and coffee, as well as retail and hospitality job training for local youth through the YouthBuild Program. More than simply a pie shop, PieLab operates as a community design center focusing on community development projects and small business incubation in Greensboro and the surrounding five counties.
